After some pondering and deliberation, this week saw the complete removal of a good 40 foot tall Leylandii that was slowly killing everything beneath it.

You can see that a number of the small leaf Portugal Laurel (Prunus Lusitanica) below have completely died as a result of the Leylandii shading any rain that may have otherwise drenched its thirst.
The Leylandii was actually in our neighbours garden, however, they kindly consented to its removal.
Here is that side of the garden after the Leylandii removal.
The resulting gap will soon be filled with the vaious sapling Robinia Pseudoacacia and others that were previously fighting for light.
Hopefully the grass and Portugal Laurel will now cope a little better.
